Training for unemployed people at footwear companies
(MasTorr in Korca and GrenShoes in Shkodra)

Following problem identification at MasTorr company in Korca and GrenShoes company in Shkodra on lack of specialized workers, available resources in Korca and Shkodra areas to address this problem and the results-oriented approach of USAID in generating new jobs and increased sales, ACIT took the lead to negotiate with interested stakeholders on the best approach to train unemployed people with the ultimate goal: their qualification and hiring by MasTorr company.

For this purpose, a collaboration agreement was signed amid the stakeholders: MasTorr Company, Professional Education Centers in Korca and Shkodra, ACIT, GTZ and Labor Offices in Korca and Shkodra areas. The training is foreseen for 30 people in Korca and 80 people in Shkodra.

The agreement covers the following activities to take place:

• Completing a curricula
• Completing didactic materials
• Announcing publicly the training

• Theory part taking place

• Test of trainee
• Certification
• MasTorr and GrenShoes hire at least 50% of the trained people
